Meet Dr. Mark Hyman

Dr. Mark Hyman is Head of Strategy and Innovation at the Cleveland Clinic Center for Functional Medicine and founder and medical director of the UltraWellness Center. He has had extensive engagement with the legislative and executive branch on health care policy, including consulting with the surgeon general on diabetes prevention, participating in the 2009 White House Forum on Prevention and Wellness, and testifying before the Senate Working Group on Health Care Reform on Functional Medicine.

A thirteen-time New York Times best-selling author, Dr. Hyman wrote the bestselling book, Food Fix, and has championed the idea that ‘food is medicine’ and activated it into a national campaign targeting the most influential players in the public sphere. His research indicates that Americans would be less susceptible to chronic disease and attain better health outcomes if our nation’s food system were to be better aligned with the principle that food is medicine.

Dr. Hyman also hosts The Doctor’s Farmacy, a leading health podcast, and a regular medical contributor for national media outlets, and Board President for Clinical Affairs for the Institute for Functional Medicine.
